THE ITALIAN PROCESS
Do your homework
Take some time to review this website to learn what we can offer. Visit other churches and take pictures and notes of what you like. Research styles of church furniture and statuary from books, photographs, catalogs, or the internet to narrow down your needs. The better idea you have of your needs before you contact us, the sooner we can get to work for you.
Call or email Mark Cousineau at Henninger's with your request and we will work with you right away.
Tel: (216) 362-8860 (USA)
We will listen to your request and provide a top of the line design for your new altar, statue, baptismal font, etc. Please give us about a week to produce our first design. Most items fabricated in our shops in Italy are rather complex, so this stage of the process normally takes 6 - 8 rounds of feedback, and re-design.
If you are an architect or liturgical designer, we would love to work with your plans. We are available to provide feedback and would enjoy to collaborate with you.
Please feel free to ask for pricing at any stage of the process.
When everyone has agreed on the design, price, and lead time, we can agree to proceed with the work. Most projects will require a down payment to begin and larger works make require a payment plan, with the balance due upon completion.
Each client that agrees to work with us will receive the same high level of professionalism and craftsmanship. We pride ourselves in constant communication so everyone has the latest information.
Please allow 4 - 6 months for the custom fabrication of your piece. Since each item is custom made, it takes time to execute each step of the process. Specialists in each aspect of the work will take your statue or altar, step by step, until completion.
It is customary in Italy to work and revise and work on your project until you are 100% satisfied. You can look forward to work in progress photographs to see the evolution of the work. Visits to Italy to meet our artists and craftsmen are encouraged. Only after complete approval will your items be packed for shipment
Each item is carefully crated and shipped via ocean freight. We have set up a system of importing, customs clearance, and delivery to make the process as simple and efficient as possible. Please allow about 3 weeks for ocean freight and 2 weeks for customs clearance and delivery.
The installation team will work with all other trades and contractors at your church. We ensure a professional and skillful installation for your commissioned piece. Since we only work in churches we understand the reverence required in your sacred space.
